Terms
The short, readable version of the rules.
SharedTasks is a shared task list for households and small groups. These terms keep it pleasant for everyone. Draft terms — pending legal review before launch.
Your account
- You need a verified email address to sign in. Keep your password to yourself; anything done from your account is on you until you tell us otherwise.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. Deletion is immediate and self-serve.
Your content
- What you post belongs to you. You give us only the licence needed to store it, sync it between your devices, and show it to the group you posted it in.
- Content you post into a group stays with the group if you leave — the same social contract as a group chat.
Acceptable use
- Don't use SharedTasks to harass people, break the law, or store content that has no business in a family task app.
- Don't probe, overload, or attempt to breach the service. We rate-limit and audit authentication activity.
- We may suspend accounts that put other users or the service at risk.
The service
- SharedTasks is provided as-is, without warranty. We work hard on reliability (offline-first sync exists precisely so a bad connection doesn't lose your data), but we're a small team and outages can happen.
- Our liability is capped at the amount you've paid us for the service — which, during the beta, is nothing.
- We'll give reasonable notice before discontinuing the service, along with the export tool to take your data with you.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
